Boyology: A Teen Girl’s Crash Course in All Things Boy at Little Egg Harbor Branch of the Ocean County Library

Author Sarah O’ Leary Burningham will visit the Little Egg Harbor Branch of the Ocean County Library (290 Mathistown Rd) on Tuesday, Oct. 6 at 7pm, to discuss her book, Boyology: A Teen Girl’s Crash Course in All Things Boy.

Boyolgy delves into the mysteries of teen guys, dissecting flirting tactics, offering dating suggestions, and providing tips on forming solid friendships with guys. From “a few things to remember when text flirting” to a math formula to figure out how long it will take to get over him, this is an up-close-and-personal look at everything a girl has ever needed to know about dating. Parents will appreciate that the author handles discussions about kissing and beyond with grace and tact. Most importantly, Sarah empowers her readers to make smart choices on their own terms. The author shares her own experiences, peppers pages with fun celebrity quotes, and most importantly includes comments from real teenagers—through a tremendous amount of research and polling via her own MySpace page—on everything from first dates to breakups.

With a fresh new look and a pitch-perfect voice, BOYOLOGY is a must-have for teens who are already dating as well as girls who might want to know what they’re in for.

Some of the basics Sarah includes are:

· Figuring out first dates and the rest of the dating game

· Setting your boundaries

· Outside forces: friends, parents, and other factors

· Boy friend vs. boyfriend (there is a MAJOR difference!)

· Breaking up, getting back in the game, and much more

Each page is jam-packed with sensible advice that teens can use in their everyday lives. Figuring out teen boys may seem daunting, but with the help of BOYOLOGY, girls will feel as confident as they should be.

Sarah O’Leary Burningham is the author of How to Raise Your Parents and has thousands of teen friends on MySpace, a regular blog, and is still a teenager at heart. She lives and works in New York. For more information, check out
