Novelist Amy Ignatow pokes fun at teen popularity in LBI

SURF CITY –  Author Amy Ignatow, author of the pre-teen novel “The Popularity Papers,” will discuss her book at the Long Beach Island library branch, 217 S. Central Avenue Thurs. Aug. 19 at 2 p.m.

Ignatow’s debut novel introduces readers to two fifth-graders, Julie Graham-Chang and Lydia Goldblatt, and their elusive quest to understand popularity and how to use that for their own benefit.

Their misadventures and errant experiments, however, don’t quite work out the way they hope, but they do succeed in keeping readers in stitches.

Ignatow is an illustrator and teacher who lives in Philadelphia. She graduated from Moore College of Art and Design with her husband Mark and their cat Mathilda. This program is free and open to the public. For more information or to register for this program go to our Website or telephone the branch (609) 494-2480.
