Ocean County Library collects “Books for Kids” for “Sparks Best Friends Forever” Club

TOMS RIVER—Throughout the holiday season, Ocean County Library is holding a book drive to collect new children’s books to be distributed throughout the library’s “Sparks Best Friends Forever Reading Club” program.

All twenty one locations of the Ocean County Library are accepting new book donations from the community through December 31.

Named after the library’s mascot, the “Sparks’ Best Friends Forever Reading Club” program partners with the State of New Jersey’s Children and Family Services Ocean County divisions to provide books for children and families who service the organization.

“This program continues the library’s mission of ‘Connecting People, Building Community.’  We can help children and teens enjoy reading by providing them with books,” said Marilyn Bass, Volunteer Coordinator

Since the “Sparks Friends Forever Club” program started in August 2008, the library has collected and distributed over 4,250 books that were donated by the community.
