Manchester Library to Host Holiday Workshop for Alzheimer’s Loved Ones

MANCHESTER – On Monday November 23rd at 10:00 a.m. the Manchester branch will host “The Holidays with Alzheimer’s,” a workshop for people with loved ones that have this disease.

This session will show you how to include someone with dementia in the festivities and traditions of the season without causing added stress for them and their caregivers. It will include tips for holiday socializing, ideas for useful gifts, plus guidelines for decorating safely.

This free program, which is open to the adult public, is part of the Manchester branch’s program series marking November as National Alzheimer’s Awareness Month. MANCHESTER LIBRARY TO SHOW “Doubt”

MANCHESTER – The Manchester branch of the Ocean County Library will screen the film “Doubt” on Wednesday, November 25th, at 2:00 p.m. See this popular drama on a large screen without paying the admission fee of a movie theater!

Based on the Pulitzer Prize winning play, the film is set in a NY Catholic school in 1964. The school’s principal, Sister Aloysius, suspects that a priest is sexually abusing one of the students. This student also happens to be the school’s first African American student. The priest denies the charges and it becomes her word against his in this study of religion, morality and authority. It is rated PG-13.

This movie is part of the library’s Feature Film Series. Registration is not required.
